One button in class, a study pack after it

Clip it on and press record

One button. No laptop open, no phone face up on the desk, no battery anxiety through a three-hour lab.

It hands the audio to VocalScribe

The Clip uploads over Wi-Fi to your account, or you plug in over USB-C. The recording lands in your library like any other upload.

Open the study pack

The transcript, Cornell notes, flashcards, and a practice quiz are waiting when class ends, in the app you already use.

What a reservation actually is

  • It holds the $69 price and your place in the shipping queue.
  • Units are built and shipped by our manufacturing partner. We size the first run from these reservations, which is why the queue exists at all.
  • No card is collected today. We email you before anything is charged.
  • If the ship date moves, you get an email with the new date and the option to cancel.

Questions about the Clip

What is the VocalScribe Clip?

The VocalScribe Clip is a pocket recorder that clips to a bag or lanyard, records up to 20 hours of audio on a charge, and uploads the recording to your VocalScribe account, where it becomes a transcript, Cornell notes, flashcards, and a practice quiz.

What does pre-ordering actually commit me to?

Reserving holds the $69 price instead of the $79 retail price and puts you in the shipping queue. It is not a purchase: any deposit is refundable in full until your unit ships, and the balance is charged only when we ship. Cancel by replying to the confirmation email.

When does the Clip ship?

First units are planned to ship March 2027. Hardware dates move, so if that slips we will email everyone in the queue with the new date rather than let it pass quietly.

Do I need the Clip to use VocalScribe?

No. VocalScribe records in the browser on a laptop or phone and accepts uploaded audio, and your first lecture up to 90 minutes is free. The Clip exists for people who would rather not leave a laptop recording through a three-hour lab.

Does the Clip need a subscription?

Every Clip includes 3 months of VocalScribe Pro. After that the device keeps recording and you can keep transferring audio on any plan, including the free one, within that plan's limits.

Is it legal to record a lecture?

Recording rules vary by school and by jurisdiction. Ask the instructor for permission before you record a class, the same as you would with a phone.
